Vocational Classification Of Past Relevant Work

A valuable resource for attorneys representing Social Security Disability Applicants is having an experienced Vocational Expert classify their client’s Past Relevant Work.

This classification is performed during SSD hearings by Vocational Experts under contract by SSA, which may or may not be completely accurate.

As a Vocational Expert with 16 years of experience with SSA, I offer my service to legal representatives, which is comprised of:

  1. A careful review of work history documents made available by the legal representative and their client.
  2. A telephone interview with the client, to obtain more detailed information concerning the exact tasks performed; the level of physical and vocational demands in which the jobs were performed.
  3. The analysis of the occupations using the Dictionary of Occupational Titles & Selected Characteristics of Occupations, as well as possibly other resources.
  4. The development of a detailed report which the representative can submit as vocational evidence for the Administrative Law Judge’s review and consideration.
  5. For an additional fee, responding to hypothetical questions which the ALJ may have during the hearing, in a post hearing memorandum.

The report is furnished to the representative in advance of the hearing, with the possibility of revision, pending the representative’s review and response to hypotheticals which the representative may wish to pose.

My fee for the complete service is $350.00, which is required in pre-payment, with the assignment.

This service can be of substantial value, based upon my experience in performing SSD hearings over the course of the past 16 years.
